A new book is coming! It finally has a cover and all the details are falling into place for the release this September 24th!
I can't wait for all of you to meet Azulin and Calypso, my grumpy fae king and his bride. She keeps him on his toes. Toss in a sarcastic Pooka and a much less talkative dragon shifter and it is a fun adventure of strong personalities.
Someone stole Azulin’s true name. Cursed to ride with the Wild Hunt during each full moon, he is helpless against the Unseelie king’s will. Over the years, the curse’s grip has strengthened, making Azulin’s magic difficult to control. Fighting the curse has exhausted his spirit to the point that he despairs of breaking its hold on him. Then one full moon, the curse places him in a labyrinth, not a hunt. Perhaps this is his chance, or maybe just a new form of torture.
Calypso is a shapeshifter who can’t change form. Living as an unpaid caregiver and laborer in her sister’s household, her presence is barely tolerated in their insular community. When a strange fae threatens her pregnant sister, Calypso sacrifices herself. Perhaps an honorable death would give her life purpose. Instead, she ended up fighting for her life in a pitch-black labyrinth.
The Fae King’s Labyrinth is a light, fantasy romance novella about a relationship between a Seelie fae and a mortal woman. It features fae, found family, fated mates, and a romance between a noble and a commoner, played out in a perilous maze and an equally dangerous fae court.
In other news...
My next project isn't going to be the next Courts in Conflict. I needed a break from the fae after spending a year with them on this last book. So, I am writing the first book in a new series before I return to finish the series.
However, before I tell you about my new shiny idea/book, I will share the blurb for the third (and possibly the last) Courts in Conflict novel: The Unseelie Heir's Claim.
Rhys has spent his life as an outcast. He never knew his father, and from a young age, he supported himself and his exiled mother. When a strange fae appears one day and declares Rhys the heir of the Unseelie throne, he has only one stipulation. His best friend must come with him.
Ardwyn is a foundling. She knows she is of mixed blood, but she knows nothing more. Outcast among the outcasts in their tiny, impoverished community, she depends on Rhys’ friendship to keep her from starvation. But now that he is leaving for a palace and a crown, where will she fit into his new life?
Pique your interest?
So what am I writing next? The Captive Dragon is going to be the first book in a series of standalone novels/novellas set in the same world as the Elves of Eldarlan and Courts in Conflict.
Here is that blurb:
Storm, born of an esteemed lineage, avoids the violent politics of his species until the power struggle comes to him. Attacked while traveling home, he overcomes his assailant. Wounded and vulnerable, Storm retreats into a cave to heal, only to be woken from a healing sleep by a band of cutthroats intent on taking his hide.
Selah has been kidnapped. The thugs wanted an elven mindhealer, but she is only an apprentice. Now her captors are insisting she slay a dragon for them by addling its mind. To refuse means death for her, but to comply would be death of a different kind.
Which book are you more excited about?
I want to write them both! So little time and so many fun book ideas to explore! 😊😍
Either way, I am writing away and creating The Captive Dragon and plotting and preparing The Unseelie Heir's Claim for its turn.
